Valhalla New Game Plus Arrives November 5

Valhalla New Game Plus finally has a date. Ubisoft confirmed in its Fall 2026 Assassin's Creed update, presented by head of content Jean Guesdon on October 29, that the mode lands on November 5, almost six years after Assassin's Creed Valhalla launched in November 2020. The timing is no accident: Valhalla has now passed 40 million players, and Ubisoft is giving that huge audience a concrete reason to start Eivor's saga over again.

New Game Plus lets you restart the story while carrying over much of your progression, with enemy scaling built specifically for a second run so it does not collapse into a walkover. That alone would have been enough for most returning players, but Ubisoft is bundling it with a wider progression rework. An optional system makes Gear, Runes, and Masteries all count toward Eivor's overall Power, which should make build choices feel more meaningful on a repeat playthrough.

The update also adds new runes, new achievements, a stash system, and a new resource called Mithril, used to upgrade gear to a new Divine tier and strengthen runes. There is also a Master Assassin outfit inspired by Naoe from Assassin's Creed Shadows. Full patch notes are due in the coming days, along with news on current-generation console updates for Valhalla, so players on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S should watch for platform-specific details before November 5. GameSpot's report on the update covers the Valhalla additions alongside the wider franchise news.

Black Flag Resynced Gets Its Final Major Update

If Valhalla is the headline for returning players, Black Flag Resynced is the closing chapter. The remake launched on July 9, 2026, and Ubisoft Singapore has now delivered its final major update, adding New Game Plus, Nightmare Mode, new finishers, trinkets, and fresh customization. Edward Kenway can now dress as Blackbeard or in his London attire, and the Jackdaw and its crew get new looks too.

Our Black Flag Resynced update 1.0.8 coverage broke down that final patch in detail, and the franchise update confirms there is nothing bigger coming after it. That is a deliberate choice, not an oversight. Ubisoft is framing Resynced as a completed project, and players who bought it for a long tail of support should plan around the game as it stands now, plus whatever smaller fixes follow.

For a remake that was Ubisoft's first ever in the franchise, that is a respectable place to land. Resynced taught the teams a lot, in Guesdon's words, and the lessons are being carried into whatever comes next rather than poured into endless Resynced seasons.

No New Assassin's Creed Remake Is in Development

The update's bluntest line will disappoint a specific group of fans. Ubisoft said plainly: "We currently have no other Assassin's Creed remake actively in development." Teams are already focused on the next chapter of the series, including projects players have not heard about yet, with new settings and stories.

That is a sharp reset after months of speculation. Following Resynced's strong reception, many fans assumed another classic would get the same treatment next. Ubisoft is not closing the door forever, it says it will keep exploring opportunities to bring older titles back, but right now nobody inside the company is building a second remake. If you were holding out for a specific title, the honest read is that you will be waiting a while, and the next new Assassin's Creed will be something original rather than a remake.

Hexe Waits Until 2027, Invictus Keeps Evolving

Codename Hexe, the darker Assassin's Creed entry built around a witch-focused story, remains in steady development, but Ubisoft confirmed its next major update will not arrive until 2027. The update closed Hexe's section with an unexplained cipher-style message, which is exactly the kind of breadcrumb the community will spend weeks decoding. No release window was given, and fans should treat any 2027 launch rumor as unconfirmed until Ubisoft says otherwise.

Codename Invictus, the multiplayer project, is being reworked after its first private playtests. Hundreds of players tried an early prototype, and feedback pushed the team toward classic parkour and verticality, leaning harder into what makes Assassin's Creed feel like Assassin's Creed. Ubisoft warned that information circulating online about Invictus may be incomplete or outdated, which is a polite way of saying the version testers played is not the version that will ship.

What the 20th Anniversary Year Means

Assassin's Creed turns 20 in 2027, and Ubisoft promises a full year of reveals, updates, rewards, and community events. That framing matters for how to read this update. The Fall 2026 post was explicitly a progress report, not a showcase, with Guesdon saying up front there would be no major reveals. The real announcements are being saved for the anniversary year.

For players, the practical takeaway is simple. Valhalla's New Game Plus on November 5 is the thing to play now. Black Flag Resynced is finished and worth a final run in Nightmare Mode. Everything else, Hexe, Invictus, and whatever unannounced projects Ubisoft is building, is a 2027 story. That is a slower roadmap than some fans wanted, but it is at least a clear one, and clarity is worth something after years of codenames and rumors.
