Dead Party Release Date Set for October 29, Just in Time for Halloween

The Dead Party Release Date Is Locked: October 29
The Dead Party release date is now official: the 4-player co-op zombie defense game from Radiation Blue and Snail Games USA launches on Steam and the Epic Games Store on October 29, 2026, two days before Halloween. Console versions are planned to follow in the weeks after. Snail Games USA confirmed the date in its official announcement, and Snail, Inc. reiterated it in a portfolio update today, calling Dead Party one of its headline launches for the season.
What Is Dead Party?
Set in the once-peaceful town of Shady Hill, Dead Party kicks off on Halloween night when UFOs appear overhead and the dead climb out of their graves. It is a follow-up to the zombie barricading cult classic Dead Block, and it builds on that game's music-fueled mayhem with a bigger co-op scope: up to four players team up to defend buildings against waves of increasingly dangerous undead.
The loop is less "mow down zombies" and more "hold the line with whatever you can find." You scavenge the neighborhood, break objects for resources, build barricades, deploy improvised traps, and adapt your defenses as the horde closes in. Different zombie types and map layouts force squads to rethink their approach every run.
And then there is the game's signature weapon: rock music. When conventional defenses fail, players can harness the power of guitars and music-based abilities to push back the undead. It is a silly, loud twist, and honestly, it is exactly the kind of chaotic party-game energy that works best with three friends shouting over voice chat.
The Four Modes
Dead Party ships with several distinct ways to play:
- Stage Equipment: use stage equipment and the power of music to repel the undead.
- Antenna: power up generators that emit zombie-repelling radio waves.
- Skull Cannon: collect zombie skulls and blast UFOs out of the sky.
- Horde: a pure survival mode where the goal is simply to last as long as possible.
On top of that, a Story Mode follows four different characters, each with their own abilities, equipment, strengths, weaknesses, and storylines. Both online and local co-op are supported, which makes this an easy recommendation for groups hunting for something chaotic to play together over the Halloween weekend.
The Expanded Demo Is Live Right Now
You do not have to wait until October 29 to see if this clicks with your group. An expanded demo is available ahead of launch as part of Steam Next Fest, and it unlocks a previously unseen Museum stage once you complete the other Story Mode stages. Snail Games is clearly betting on the demo to convert players before release, and for a co-op game, that is the right call: party games live or die on whether a full squad enjoys the first hour.
This is a well-trodden launch window for co-op games. If you are shopping for more team-friendly options, our Mycopunk beginner guide covers another October co-op launch, and our Fortnitemares 2026 rewards guide rounds up the season's free cosmetics.
What We Still Don't Know
The one big unknown is price: neither the press release nor today's Snail portfolio update confirms a launch price, and the Steam page currently lists Dead Party as coming soon. Console dates are similarly vague, described only as "the weeks to come." We will update this story when pricing and console release windows are confirmed.
