Fortnite Treasure Hunters Guide: Crossbones Isle POIs, Boss Fight, and Weekly Captain Schedule

This Fortnite Treasure Hunters guide covers the mini-season that went live on November 1 with update v43.00, and the first thing to know is that the island itself changed the game. Crossbones Isle holds 80 players instead of 100, it is smaller and wetter than the Chapter 7 map, and cannons have replaced a lot of the rotation tools you were used to. The season runs until the Chapter 7 end event on December 5, so you have about five weeks to work through it.
The theme is pirates, obviously, but the crossover goes deeper than skins. One Piece locations sit on the map, Devil Fruits work as Mythic items, and a rotating cast of musical captains takes over strongholds week by week. Here is how to make sense of all of it.
Fortnite Treasure Hunters guide: Crossbones Isle POIs
Epic's launch notes name 11 points of interest on Crossbones Isle, and the in-game map card prints a slightly different set of labels, so treat the map itself as the final word when names disagree. The locations that matter most:
- The $.$. Rocky: A$AP Rocky's battleship on the east coast, and the island's first boss location.
- Windmill Village: Luffy's hometown port, complete with its signature windmills.
- Arlong Park: the towering aquatic stronghold of the Arlong Pirates.
- Baratie Bay: the famous ocean-going restaurant, anchored off the coast alongside pirate port towns.
- Loguetown, Crew's Cove, Plunder Port, Fort Fortuna, Rubber Resort, Lantern Lanes and Captain's Cenote: the rest of the island's named stops, mixing original pirate-town locations with One Piece landmarks.
Cannons are the new way around the island. Climb into one to launch across the map and reach fights fast, and load one with an Explosive Cannon Ball if you want to arrive with an entrance. With only 80 players on a smaller island, early fights come quicker than they did in Chapter 7 Season 4, so pick a landing spot with an exit route, not just good loot.
How to beat A$AP Rocky, the first boss
A$AP Rocky is the island's first boss, aboard The $.$. Rocky from the first Captain's Day at 9 AM ET on November 1. Storming a boss battleship solo is a good way to donate your loot to someone else, so go in with a squad, full shields and a plan for the escape.
Beating him drops his Mythic Shock Rocket launcher and a vault keycard, plus the Lil' Flacko Sprite. The Shock Rocket is a non-Competitive item, so do not build your ranked loadout around it. In casual matches, though, it is one of the strongest opening-week weapons in the game, and the keycard opens vault loot that can set your squad up for the rest of the match.
New weapons and Mythics to learn
The Treasure Hunters loot pool leans hard into the One Piece fantasy. Luffy's Gum-Gum Fruit and Zoro's Three Sword Style arrive as Mythic-style abilities, alongside Usopp's Slingshot for long-range precision. Two black-powder classics return from Save the World: the burst-fire Bundlebuss rifle and the heavy Dragoon shotgun.
The economy changed too, and this one catches returning players out. Gold Bars are vaulted in v43.00, Vending Machines are gone, and Follower services are now free. Do not plan a route around buying weapons. Chests and floor loot do that job now, and Pocket-O-Matics remain in Zero Build. Ranked also resets with a fresh season, new rewards and new rank icons, so your first few ranked matches are placement territory again.
The weekly Captain schedule
Treasure Hunters runs on Captain's Days, weekly events where a new captain takes over a stronghold and expands the loot pool. The schedule reported from Epic's notes:
- November 1: Season launch. A$AP Rocky boss live; Luffy, Nami and Usopp in the Item Shop.
- November 5 (7 PM ET): A$AP Rocky arrives in the Item Shop.
- November 6: One Piece Zoro Cup.
- November 7: Lil Uzi Vert, Buggy and the Megalodon arrive; Zoro, Sanji and the Chopper Sidekick hit the Shop.
- November 12 to 14: Lil Uzi Vert, Buggy, Kasane Teto and Cap'n Hatsune Miku rotate through the Shop; Buggy Cup on November 13.
- November 14: Week 3, with Miku and Teto taking over the resort.
- November 21: Week 4, with Oscar arriving alongside the Frenzy Auto Shotgun.
- December 5: Chapter 7 end event.
The Battle Pass, headlined by Portgas D. Ace and Nico Robin alongside anime-styled versions of Jonesy, Cuddle Team Leader and Charlotte, is worth checking in the in-game Passes tab before you buy, since Epic's announcement does not print every price and unlock detail. Luffy is a Shop character, not a pass reward, which trips up a lot of players every crossover season.
Tips for your first week on Crossbones Isle
Land at a mid-tier POI, not the boss ship, until you know the cannon routes. Learn one cannon rotation per session and you will out-rotate most of the lobby. Save your Mythic fruit abilities for third-party moments rather than opening fights, because everyone on the island is still learning the same timings you are. And keep December 5 open: Epic has already told players not to miss the Chapter 7 end event, and mini-season finales tend to be one-time-only.
