Worlds 2026 Semifinal Preview: Bilibili Gaming Await T1 or Karmine Corp on Sunday, November 8

Worlds 2026 Semifinal: BLG Are Waiting
The Worlds 2026 semifinal bracket is nearly set, and Bilibili Gaming are already waiting in it. BLG swept Dplus KIA 3-0 in the third quarterfinal on November 5, ending the run of one of only two teams that came through the Swiss Stage unbeaten. Now they play the second semifinal on Sunday, November 8, against the winner of T1 versus Karmine Corp, with a place in the Worlds 2026 grand final on the line.
The semifinal starts at 4 PM CST (5 PM ET) at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, Texas, the same stage that has hosted every knockout series so far. The final moves to Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Saturday, November 14. For BLG, Sunday is the biggest match the organisation has played since the Worlds 2024 final.
How BLG Dismantled the Unbeaten DK
Nobody saw 3-0 coming. Dplus KIA entered the quarterfinal with a perfect record at the tournament: wins over G2 Esports, T1, and Movistar KOI in the Swiss Stage, without dropping a single game. They were one of two 3-0 teams, and they looked like the most complete side left in the bracket.
BLG took them apart in three games. Viper set the tone, playing Cassiopeia in Game 1, Ezreal in Game 2, and Lucian in Game 3, with support ON alongside him for the standout performances of the series. The sweep was so clean that Viper admitted afterwards he had not expected it. "I didn't expect a 3-0," he said in the post-match interview. "I came prepared for a 3-1 or even a full five-game series, but things went smoothly from the very first set."
The result extends a remarkable record: BLG have now won all three Worlds quarterfinals in the organisation's history, and every one of them came against an LCK team. Gen.G fell 3-2 in 2023, Hanwha Life Esports lost 3-1 in 2024, and now Dplus KIA have been swept. BLG also guaranteed themselves at least a third-place finish and US$400,000 in winnings, and they return to the semifinals for the first time since finishing second at Worlds 2024.
T1 or Karmine Corp: Two Very Different Finals
BLG's opponent is the winner of the last quarterfinal, T1 versus Karmine Corp, played on Friday, November 6. T1 took a 2-0 lead in the series behind Peyz's hyper-carry Yunara in Game 1 and a dominant Cassiopeia performance from Faker in Game 2, before Karmine Corp pulled one back in Game 3 with calm macro play and a Baron steal. The series was decided late on Friday night in Texas, and BLG have been preparing for both outcomes.
If T1 come through, Sunday is a rematch of the Worlds 2024 grand final, which T1 won, and a chance for BLG to break a hoodoo. BLG have never beaten T1 at Worlds, losing all three of their previous meetings. Viper knows it, and he named T1 as the likely opponent before the quarterfinal was even finished. "If KC advances, it might be a bit more comfortable, but there's a high probability we'll face T1 in the semifinals," he said. "Beating T1 at Worlds would prove just how strong we are."
If Karmine Corp come through instead, the story flips. KC are the last European team standing, at their first Worlds, after coming through the Play-In and surviving a 3-2 Swiss Stage. BLG already beat KC once at this tournament, taking their Swiss Stage meeting 1-0 on October 26. A semifinal rematch would favour BLG on paper, but KC have made a habit of ruining paper predictions at this event.
Draft Execution Will Decide It
Viper's own preview of the semifinal is blunt: "Draft execution will decide victory." That is not just post-match filler. Every knockout series at Worlds 2026 is played under Fearless Draft, where a champion picked in one game cannot be picked again by either team in the same series. Draft depth matters more than ever, and a team that runs out of comfort picks in Game 4 or 5 is in real trouble.
BLG's draft flexibility looked excellent against DK. Viper played three different carries across three games and looked comfortable on all of them, which is exactly the kind of range Fearless Draft rewards. The question is whether that depth holds up against T1, the deepest drafting team in the tournament, or against KC, whose coaching staff have already out-prepared several favourites.
The other semifinal, Gen.G versus Invictus Gaming, is played on Saturday, November 7. Our Gen.G vs IG semifinal preview breaks down that series, and our Gen.G sweep of LYON covers how the LCK champions reached the final four.
What to Watch on Sunday
Three things will decide the second semifinal. First, whether Viper can keep his form from the DK series, because BLG's entire game plan runs through him. Second, whether BLG's draft depth survives Fearless Draft against a team that has had an extra day to prepare. And third, whether the occasion gets to a BLG side that has not played a semifinal at Worlds since 2024.
T1 are the three-time defending champions, chasing a fourth straight title. Karmine Corp are the debutants who have already beaten Cloud9 and survived the Play-In. Either way, BLG face a team with a story, and a team that will not be short of motivation. Sunday, 4 PM CST, Allen, Texas. The winner goes to Brooklyn.
