Worlds 2026 Swiss Stage Round 3 Results: Gen.G and DK Reach the Quarterfinals

Worlds 2026 Swiss Stage Round 3 results are in, and the first two quarterfinalists are decided: Gen.G and Dplus KIA both won their best-of-three qualification series to finish 3-0 and book their places in the knockout stage. The rest of the picture is just as dramatic. Invictus Gaming upset Hanwha Life Esports, Top Esports beat G2, and the elimination bracket is set for Monday, with LOS against Team Secret Whales and Team Liquid against Anyone's Legend playing for their tournament lives. After a Round 1 where the LPL went winless and a Round 2 full of regional civil wars, Round 3 delivered the first real separation between contenders and survivors.

Gen.G's qualification was the least surprising result of the weekend and still the most impressive. The LCK first seed beat Hanwha Life in 29 minutes in Round 2, then handled LYON in the qualification series to reach 3-0 without ever looking troubled. Gen.G entered Worlds as the favorite, and nothing in the Swiss Stage has changed that. LYON drop to 2-1, which is no disgrace: the LCS second seed is one win from the quarterfinals and has already beaten Karmine Corp and Team Secret Whales along the way. Their next series is the biggest of their season, but they have already outperformed most preseason expectations.

Worlds 2026 Swiss Stage Round 3 Results: DK Complete the Miracle Run

Dplus KIA are the story of the Swiss Stage. The LCK fourth seed and Esports World Cup 2026 winners have now pulled off three straight escapes: a late comeback against G2 in Round 1, the Elder Dragon steal against T1 in Round 2, and a qualification win over Movistar KOI in Round 3. DK versus KOI was the more even of the two qualification series, with the LEC second seed arriving at 2-0 after beating CTBC Flying Oyster, but DK's nerve in late-game teamfights keeps winning out. KOI fall to 2-1 and remain very much alive, but they will have to beat another strong team to reach the quarterfinals, and the draw will not be kind.

The 1-1 pool produced the weekend's biggest upset. Invictus Gaming beat Hanwha Life Esports, a result that shakes up the entire bracket. HLE arrived as MSI champions and tournament favorites, but they were dismantled by Gen.G in Round 2 and now lose to IG, sliding to 1-2 and one loss from elimination. IG, meanwhile, climb to 2-1 after starting the Swiss Stage with a loss to Gen.G. For a fourth seed that many wrote off after Round 1, that is a remarkable recovery, and it puts the LPL back in the quarterfinal conversation after its winless start. Top Esports also beat G2 in the 1-1 pool, moving to 2-1 and keeping LPL hopes alive on two fronts.

Worlds 2026 Swiss Stage Round 3 Results: Monday Elimination Matches

Monday, October 26 brings the matches that end seasons. The schedule, in Pacific Time, is T1 against CTBC Flying Oyster at 10 AM, Karmine Corp against Bilibili Gaming at 11 AM, LOS against Team Secret Whales at 12 PM, and Team Liquid against Anyone's Legend at 1 PM. The last two are best-of-three elimination series: lose and you go home. LOS and Team Secret Whales both sit at 0-2 after tough Swiss draws, and the winner climbs to 1-2 with a fighting chance. Team Liquid against Anyone's Legend is the heavier story. AL entered Worlds as the LPL first seed and now sit at 0-2, one loss from a humiliating early exit, while Team Liquid carry North American hopes after their own 0-2 start.

T1 against CFO and BLG against Karmine Corp are best-of-one matches in the 1-1 pool, and both matter enormously. T1, the defending champions, lost to DK in Round 2 after leading most of a tense 41-minute game, and they suddenly look mortal. A loss to CFO would drop them to 1-2 and put the three-time champions on the brink. Karmine Corp, the only play-in survivor still standing, need to prove their Round 1 win over Anyone's Legend was not a one-off, while BLG need a win to steady a tournament that started with a loss to Movistar KOI. Our Round 3 preview laid out all eight matchups, and our Round 2 results covered how we got here.

What Round 3 Means for the Quarterfinals

Two spots are gone, six remain, and the field is splitting into three tiers. Gen.G and DK are through. LYON, KOI, IG, and TES sit at 2-1, one win from joining them. Everyone at 1-2, including HLE, T1, and AL, is playing for survival. The most important thing Round 3 proved is that the LCK is not invincible and the LPL is not finished. Gen.G look like champions, but HLE look vulnerable, T1 look human, and IG just beat a favorite. The LEC, through KOI and KC, is still in the fight, and the LCS still has LYON and Team Liquid alive.

Watch Monday's elimination games first. If Anyone's Legend lose to Team Liquid, the LPL first seed goes home in the Swiss Stage, which would be one of the biggest shocks in recent Worlds history. If T1 lose to CFO, the defending champions join them on the brink. Either way, the quarterfinal draw after Round 4 will look very different from the one most fans predicted before Round 1. For now, Gen.G and DK can rest, plan, and watch everyone else fight for their lives. That is the reward for going 3-0, and both teams earned it the hard way.
