Marvel Rivals Patch 20261029 Is Live, With No Downtime
Marvel Rivals patch 20261029 went live on October 29, 2026 at 09:00 UTC, and NetEase made the rollout as painless as possible: no server downtime, just patch and play. The update is a content drop first and a balance patch second. Its headline is Night of Illusions, a Halloween detective event starring Elsa Bloodstone, plus a store refresh built around Winter Soldier, Storm and Iron Man. If you were waiting for a big hero rework, this is not that patch. If you like free event rewards and a reason to log in every day, it is a good one. The full details are in the official patch notes on Steam.
Marvel Rivals Patch 20261029: Night of Illusions Explained
Night of Illusions runs from October 29, 2026 at 09:00 UTC to December 31, 2026 at 09:00 UTC, which gives you plenty of runway. The setup is pure comic book horror: a mysterious man mistakes the number 4 on a witch for her name, then tries to sacrifice four monsters to complete a summoning ritual. Elsa Bloodstone walks into the bizarre house at the centre of it and starts pulling the thread. You explore five mysterious rooms, solve a string of puzzles, and claim limited time rewards including rare Gallery Cards, Units, Sprays and more.
The event follows the same detective format that made the Death of Apocalypse event popular. You are not just clearing matches for a progress bar. You investigate rooms, gather clues, and work through puzzles that chain together across chapters, from an infirmary mystery to a scrapyard door code and a ritual clock puzzle. That structure suits Marvel Rivals well, because it gives solo players something to do between matches without forcing a grind. Play it in order, read the clues instead of clicking through them, and do not burn your patience on one puzzle when another room might hold the missing detail.
What Is in the Store After the Patch
The store additions arrive from October 30, 2026 at 02:00 UTC. Winter Soldier leads the pack with the Celestial Soldier Bundle, available until November 27, 2026 at 02:00 UTC, plus a Celestial Soldier Emoji Bundle and Celestial Soldier Chroma options in Iris Nebula and Pipe Nebula, with matching Ultimate Ability VFX. Storm and Iron Man get Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls bundles, with Storm also getting a Tokon Ultimate Ability VFX. The Tokon crossover is a neat piece of cross promotion, and it lands right as fighting game fans are paying attention to that roster. Prices are in the in game store, so check before you buy, and remember that chromas and VFX only matter if you actually play the hero.
How to Get the Most Out of This Patch
Start with Night of Illusions while it is fresh, because the community is solving it together right now and guides are updating fast. The event runs until the end of the year, so there is no need to rush it in one sitting, but the early chapters teach the mechanics that later rooms rely on. If you are chasing Units and Gallery Cards, finish each chapter fully before moving on, since rewards are tied to completing rooms, not just opening them. For the store, Winter Soldier players have a month to decide on the Celestial Soldier bundle, while Storm and Iron Man fans should look at the Tokon bundles as a set rather than buying pieces one at a time.
For context on where this update sits, Season 10.5 has leaned hard into Avengers themed modes and Halloween content, and this patch keeps that run going. If you are returning after a break, the Marvel Rivals Infinity War mode guide is still a useful refresher on the Path to Doomsday modes running alongside the event, and the Marvel Rivals Endgame patch covers the previous content drop. This patch does not reinvent the game. It gives you a mystery to solve, a few sharp skins to consider, and a clean reason to jump back in tonight.
