Worlds 2026 Swiss Stage Day 1 Results

Day 1 of the Worlds 2026 Swiss Stage is in the books, and it could hardly have gone worse for the LPL. All four LCK teams won their openers at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, Texas, while all four LPL teams lost, setting up a brutal Saturday for China's finest and a dream start for Korea's. Defending champions T1 opened with a 24-minute demolition of LOS, and the full Worlds 2026 Swiss Stage Day 1 results make for grim reading if you support an LPL team.

The Swiss Stage runs through October 31 in Allen, with the knockout stage starting November 3 and the grand final set for Barclays Center in New York on November 14. The prize pool is $5 million, with $1 million going to the champions.

Worlds 2026 Swiss Stage Day 1 Results: All Eight Matches

  • Gen.G beat Invictus Gaming (26 minutes): IG struck first and built a real early lead, winning a huge Voidgrubs fight and taking first turret. Gen.G stayed calm, flipped the game around a mid-lane pick on Rookie's Aurora, stacked dragons, then closed with Dragon Soul and Baron in a 26-minute win.
  • Hanwha Life Esports beat Top Esports (23 minutes): The fastest stomp of the day. HLE ran over TES in 23 minutes, the most one-sided of the four LCK wins.
  • Movistar KOI beat Bilibili Gaming (39 minutes): The longest game of the day, and the one that broke LPL hearts hardest. BLG, the LPL team with the best record against Korean sides, fought MKOI for 39 minutes on blue side and still lost.
  • Karmine Corp beat Anyone's Legend (33 minutes): Europe's crowd favorites kept their Play-In momentum rolling, beating the LPL champions in 33 minutes and completing the LPL's nightmare day.
  • Dplus KIA beat G2 Esports (33 minutes): G2 set the tempo early as Europe's top seed, but DK refused to fold, won a pivotal dragon fight past 30 minutes, and completed the comeback.
  • CTBC Flying Oyster beat Team Liquid Alienware (38 minutes): The LCP champions upheld regional pride against North America's first seed, handing TL a 0-1 start.
  • T1 beat LOS (24 minutes): The defending champions cruised. T1 trounced LOS in 24 minutes on red side, with Mun "Oner" Hyeon-jun posting an 8-0-6 scoreline. LOS's Jeong "Feisty" Seong-hoon led his side at 2-3-1, but the game was never close.
  • LYON beat Team Secret Whales (27 minutes): The nightcap went to LYON in 27 minutes on blue side, closing out a day where every favorite except BLG held serve.

LCK 4-0, LPL 0-4: What Day 1 Actually Means

Swiss format makes Day 1 less fatal than it looks. Winners go 1-0, losers go 0-1, and nobody is eliminated until three losses. But the draw consequences are real: the 1-0 pool now features T1 vs Dplus KIA, Gen.G vs Hanwha Life Esports, LYON vs Karmine Corp, and CTBC Flying Oyster vs Movistar KOI, while the 0-1 pool has Anyone's Legend vs Top Esports, G2 vs LOS, Team Secret Whales vs Invictus Gaming, and Team Liquid vs Bilibili Gaming.

For the LPL, the problem is not just the losses, it is who they lost to. BLG losing a 39-minute grinder to MKOI and AL losing to KC are the kinds of results that rattle a region's confidence, because both were games the LPL was expected to win. For the LCK, the story is the opposite: four wins, three of them comfortable, and a T1 side that looks like it is peaking at exactly the right time as it chases a seventh world title for the organization.

Fearless Draft is also doing its job. With champions picked in a series unavailable for the rest of it, teams with deep pools are thriving and one-dimensional drafts are getting punished. That trend will only sharpen as the Swiss reaches best-of-three qualification and elimination series from Round 3 onward.

Worlds 2026 Swiss Stage Round 2 Schedule (Saturday, October 24)

Round 2 starts Saturday at 1 p.m. ET, with one match per hour:

  • 1-0 pool: CTBC Flying Oyster vs Movistar KOI (2 p.m.), LYON vs Karmine Corp (4 p.m.), Gen.G vs Hanwha Life Esports (6 p.m.), T1 vs Dplus KIA (7 p.m.)
  • 0-1 pool: Anyone's Legend vs Top Esports (1 p.m.), G2 Esports vs LOS (3 p.m.), Team Secret Whales vs Invictus Gaming (5 p.m.), Team Liquid Alienware vs Bilibili Gaming (8 p.m.)

The headliner is obvious: T1 vs Dplus KIA is a Korean derby with a 2-0 record on the line, and Gen.G vs Hanwha Life is a rematch of the LCK's best rivalry. In the 0-1 pool, keep an eye on Team Liquid vs Bilibili Gaming at 8 p.m. ET. Somebody's tournament gets a lot harder on Saturday night.
