Worlds 2026 Swiss Round 4 Results: T1 Sweep KOI and IG End LYON's Run to Reach Quarterfinals

Worlds 2026 Swiss Round 4 results: two teams through
The Worlds 2026 Swiss Round 4 results are in for the first two qualification series, and the quarterfinal field is half set. T1 swept Movistar KOI 2-0 and Invictus Gaming beat LYON 2-1 in Allen, Texas, joining Gen.G and Dplus KIA as the first four teams through to the knockout stage. Both series were played as best of three qualification matches, with the winners advancing at 3-1 and the losers dropping to the 2-2 bracket, where one more loss ends their tournament. Full coverage of both series is available from Inven Global's T1 report and Inven Global's IG report, with the full schedule on lolesports.com.
T1 sweep KOI 2-0
T1 are the third team into the quarterfinals, and they did it the hard way: by beating the LEC champions in straight games. Movistar KOI came into the series at 2-1 after wins over Bilibili Gaming and CTBC Flying Oyster, with their only loss a 2-0 defeat to Dplus KIA. T1 had bounced back from their own loss to DK with a win over CFO, and the defending champions looked like a team that had found its timing again.
Game 2 was the series in miniature. Keria's Karma ambushed mid lane at an unexpected moment to take down Jojopyun's Viktor for first blood, and from there T1 kept finding kills in the side lanes rather than forcing mid. A lane swap let Peyz's Jhin and Karma dive Myrwn's Ornn, and Karma immediately roamed top to help Doran's Gwen cut down Elyoya's Xin Zhao in the jungle. KOI tried to flip the game by bursting down the Dragon, but Oner's Jarvan IV stole it, and the follow up skirmish went T1's way. A 5,000 gold lead became 10,000, an Ace in the third Dragon fight broke KOI's base defense, and another Ace in a head on mid lane teamfight ended it. T1 march on; KOI fall to 2-2 and must win in round 5 to survive.
IG edge LYON 2-1 in a three-game scrap
Invictus Gaming are the fourth team through, and their path was messier and more dramatic. The LPL fourth seed, who entered Worlds after a rollercoaster domestic season, beat LYON 2-1 to become the first LPL team to reach the quarterfinals, and their first trip to the last eight since 2019. That seven year gap tells you how much this run means to a roster built around veterans TheShy and Rookie.
Game 1 showed IG at their most dangerous. LYON looked comfortable early behind their Ezreal and Karma laning duo, but IG rattled them by winning fight after fight around objectives. A top lane skirmish got IG's carries ahead, and consecutive teamfight wins snowballed their scaling advantage until they closed the game in just 27 minutes. Game 2 swung back: Wei stole a Dragon on Lee Sin, LYON answered by shutting down TheShy's Zaahen in the side lane, and a decisive Dragon teamfight powered by Dhokla's Olaf gave LYON a game they could not afford to lose. IG steadied themselves in the decider and took the series, sending LYON to the 2-2 bracket alongside KOI. LYON took a game off Gen.G earlier in the Swiss stage, so nobody should write off the LCS dark horses yet, but their margin for error is gone.
What happens next at Worlds 2026
The qualification picture now splits cleanly. Gen.G, Dplus KIA, T1, and IG are through. Four more quarterfinal spots remain, and round 5 on Saturday, October 31 decides three of them, with the final spot settled by the remaining 2-2 series. Before that, two more round 4 series are still to play, and both matter enormously.
On Thursday, October 29, CTBC Flying Oyster face Karmine Corp in an elimination match, where the loser goes home at 1-3, while Bilibili Gaming meet Top Esports in a qualification match, with the winner joining the quarterfinal field. On Friday, October 30, Team Liquid Alienware play LOS and G2 Esports face Hanwha Life Esports, both elimination matches. That G2 versus HLE series is a brutal draw: two tournament favorites, one of them eliminated before the knockouts.
For context on how we got here, our Worlds 2026 round 4 preview laid out the qualification stakes, and our day 4 results coverage covered the eliminations of Anyone's Legend and Team Secret Whales. The quarterfinals run November 3 to 6 in Allen, the semifinals follow on November 7 and 8, and the grand final is November 14 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. T1 and IG just bought their tickets. Six teams are still fighting for the other four.
